The project, which began on 30 September 2010, will from now on, in full, available to all the visitors for an indefinite period on the YouTube platform.
closure occurred during the celebration of the tenth meeting of presidents of the Club Malaga Valley, which takes place in the city of Malaga and, just this year, is dedicated to the need to boost the presence of English on the Web Initiatives like this on YouTube, which has enjoyed the support and collaboration of Royal English Academy (RAE) and the Association of Academies of the English Language (ASALA), aim to encourage and promote use of English Internet.
In recent months involving a total of 4308 people on YouTube, who sent the recording of different fragments, which were reviewed and approved by a team of the Center for Cervantes to complete the work.
Channel ( youtube.com / elquijote ) has so far registered more than four million copies, from a total of 104 countries, mostly from Spain (933 000), Mexico (89,000), Argentina ( 54,000), Colombia (19 000), United States (17,000), Chile (12 000), Peru (8000), France (7000), Venezuela (6500) and Brazil (5000), which are the places the project has achieved greater number of followers. There have even visited the channel from Taiwan (1800) and Japan (800). The channel now has over 6000 subscribers who have been attentive to both the launch and evolution of the reading process.
Among the fragments that are part of this recreation of Don Quixote is a video recorded in nature, rooms, schools or libraries, but also others made with different backgrounds and landscapes. From their own windmills of La Mancha, Mount Fuji in Japan or the Torre del Oro in Seville, to other events with churches, fountains or along the sea during a sunset. Readings are also carried out in a medical office in an adult education class in a theater or family in the company of children and pets.
were numerous creative videos as one in which there is a hand painted with a caricature of Don Quixote, another with chicken eggs illustrated by the figures of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, and many drawings and engravings of books, including with images of ceramics inspired by this work of Cervantes. There are readers who have chosen to disguise himself as Don Quixote or encourage the recreation of the fragment with puppets or paper cutouts. There are also several passages read in braille for blind people.
